Post event studies is a recap series on the interesting techniques and applications of them for mma events. This card in particular was very bad on paper and started off really bad in the prelims, but there are some good takeaways from some of the fights.

The Main Event

The way to beat Amanda Lemos as discussed in a previous article is to use false entries to mess with the timing of her counters, enter when she swings wide, and hit Lemos in transition when she moves on the ground or in the clinch. Fortunately for Jandiroba, she didn’t need any good entries, in fact her two entries into takedowns were quite hideous (video 1 and 2). Due to the tactical choices made by Lemos, like jumping a Guillitine early (video 1); Jandiroba would have her way on the ground, despite not using any hitting in transition.
